- <p> DIED. ROY RAYMOND, 47, founder of Victoria's Secret retail and
- mail-order business; an apparent suicide; in San Francisco.
- Sixteen years ago, Raymond opened the first Victoria's Secret
- shop with $80,000 in loans and began mass marketing frilly but
- immodest lingerie. When he sold the company five years later,
- it was grossing $6 million annually, and its catalog, filled
- with models pictured seemingly in post-bodice rip, had become
- a pop-culture icon. The Coast Guard recovered Raymond's body
- along the Marin County shoreline shortly after he was spotted
- walking toward the Golden Gate Bridge.
